Just a note…

January 20, 2009

I’m only posting this to document that once again it’s not direct marketing farmers making people sick, it’s FDA inspected, state sanctioned industrialized food that corrupts the food pipeline when something goes wrong.

The Peanut Corporation of America expanded its recall Sunday of peanut butter and peanut paste made last year at its plant in Blakely, Georgia because of the potential it is contaminated with salmonella.

The recalled products were distributed to institutions, food service industries and private label food companies in 24 states (including Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Missouri, and South Carolina).

As of last Friday (Jan. 16), the Centers for Disease Control said 474 people in 43 states had been infected with the same strain of salmonella (Typhimurium) found in a sample at the Georgia plant.
